What exactly is a virtuous woman? Well Proverbs 31 does a great job explaining it!
Verse 10 Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies
and
Verse 26 She opens her mouth with wisdom,
and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.
27 She looks well to the ways of her household
and does not eat the bread of idleness.
28 Her children rise up and call her blessed;
her husband also, and he praises her:
29 “Many women have done excellently,
but you surpass them all.”
30 Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain,
but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.
31 Give her of the fruit of her hands,
and let her works praise her in the gates.
Now, I’m not telling you to go and be a homemaker! Everyone is at a different season in their life.
Personal Discipline
She is disciplined with her household chores, her tongue, her hands, and there’s no idleness! To control our tongue, not scream, holler, name calling, is one that I struggle with! And Lord knows I need help in this area. We all blow up! Being gentle, firm, and an example speaks much louder, clearer than our screaming voice. Agree?
What a blessing it would be to God and our family if we were all self controlled in this area. And more so.. a godly example to our children, grandchildren and great grandchildren who see what we do day in and day out. Let’s show them grace as our loving heavenly Father had shown us. Are you disciplined in the are of household chores, staying PRODUCTIVE and not so much BUSY? Busyness is hectic, there’s absolutely not fulfillment in it. Being productive means you’ve prayerfully planned ahead, have a schedule or a list of to dos, and go about your day in peace knowing God is in control.
Godly Living
Romans 13:14 says “Make no provision for the FLESH”
MSG bible says – Get out of bed and get dressed! Don’t loiter and linger, waiting until the very last minute. Dress yourselves in Christ, and be up and about!
Are you a last minute planner that’s gotten you into trouble? Not so organized? You’re running off to one activity then the next and next! We see in verse 27 that she’s a planner. She looks after the ways of her household. What things can you do in order to become a better planner so you’re not rushing through the day? Perhaps, getting up 30 minutes earlier to read your bible (dress yourself in Christ). Have you ever noticed that if we start our day off with God, it goes so much smoother! The joy, the comfort, the wisdom, it comes together! It’s amazing.
Last but not least, another trait of godly living is —- a woman who fears the Lord.
I’m talking about reverential fear, in love and honor. If you were to examine your life now can you honestly say that you fear the Lord? What can you do to live a godly life that is pleasing to the Lord?
2 Timothy 3:1- For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power.
Galatians 5:16- But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.
Lord, I pray that you will do a work in all of us. My desire is to show and tell the truth. All Scripture is breathed out by You and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness. I speak in Love and want all women to live in righteousness! To be a virtuous woman who fears you O God. Lead me to walk by the Spirit so I will not gratify the flesh. I will not be conformed to this world but transformed by the renewing of my mind that by testing I may discern what is Your will and WHAT is good and acceptable. Amen.

Thank you for reminding of the Proverbs Virtuous Women GBU <3
To be a virtous woman is a gift from God.very hard to fulfill but with everyday prayers I know women can do it.
Such a wonderful blueprint for the way a Godly woman should be. Such a blessing to read. Thank you. A woman of God realizes, “Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen,” and consequently strives for the principled course of action.
